Computer and Technology Classes

Get familiar with computers, learn a new program, or enhance your skills through a variety of computer classes. Below are some of the computer classes we offer:

Introduction to Computers/Computer Basics

This class is ideal for individuals with little or no experience with computers.

Students will learn about the basic parts of a computer, practice using the mouse, open programs and work with multiple program windows, learn how to sign up to use the library’s public computers, and more.

Microsoft Office Series

NOTE: These classes are NOT certifications. They are free sessions designed to help you learn and and understand the basics of working with Microsoft Office applications.

Introduction to Microsoft Word
Prerequisite: Students should understand the basic concepts of using a computer, particularly using the keyboard and mouse, before taking this class.
Students will learn the basics of Microsoft Word, including creating and saving documents, formatting text and paragraphs, using the spell checker, inserting pictures, adding headers and footers, modifying margins and page orientation, and adding tables.

Please be on time – any open seats at the beginning of class will be given to students that are present and standing by.

If you are not registered for a class, you are welcome to come to the class and check in with the instructor 10-15 minutes before the class starts. At the beginning of class the instructor will see how many seats are available and given them to the students that are waiting.
Introduction to Microsoft Excel
Prerequisite: Students should understand the basic concepts of using a computer, particularly using the keyboard and mouse, before taking this class.
Students will learn the basics of Microsoft Excel, including creating and saving documents, formatting text and cell spacing, using simple formulas, inserting charts, and formatting documents for printing.

Please be on time – any open seats at the beginning of class will be given to students that are present and standing by.

Prerequisite: Students should understand the basic concepts of using a computer, particularly using the keyboard and mouse, before taking this class.
Students will learn the basics of Microsoft PowerPoint, including working with templates, creating and saving documents, inserting and formatting text, using transitions, inserting graphics, and formatting documents for printing.

Please be on time – any open seats at the beginning of class will be given to students that are present and standing by.
