Search for Mystical Stone Movie & Take-Home Worry Stones

When: Tuesday, June 4 at 4:00 PM
Where: Lovejoy Branch
Description:
First watch a very famous movie character search for a mystical stone. Then learn how worry stones were believed by some of the "Ancients" to have soothing powers when rubbed.  Finally take home some worry stones and "rub your worries away." It's more fun to "Don't worry, Be Happy." This program is for older youth, teens, and interested adults.

Beneath the Surface Teen "Poetry and Open Mic Night"

When: Tuesday, June 4 at 5:00 PM
Where: Forest Park Branch
Description: We’re inviting all Teen poets, musicians, and spoken word artists to share their talent with the Forest Park Teen Zone. There will be a PA system, with microphone, to use, as well as light refreshments and conversation.  Come out and share your gift with us, and experience the many wonderful talents that Forest Park Teens have to offer.  For Teens 12 and Older.

VerbalEyze Open Mic

When: Saturday, June 15 at 2:00 PM
Where: Headquarters Branch
Description: Presented by VerbalEyze Writers Cooperative (www.verbaleyze.org), this program allows young poets and other members of the community to step to the mic and share words, art, and passions!  This open mic will be held at the Headquarters Library every third Saturday of the month.  The Clayton County Library is a family-friendly environment, and all open mic content must be appropriate to such an environment.

Recommended for ages 12-22.

No registration required, just drop in.

Description: Have you ever wondered how music is made in today's technologically produced music?  Have you ever wondered what tools are used, and the process that many of today's top music producers take when making music for your favorite artist?  This Teen session will do just that...see what programs are used to make music such as logic, reasons, or fruity loops...see what tools are needed for setting up a microphone to record vocals...see how an actual song is constructed from start to finish.  After this session...you'll know what it takes to set-up your own studio and make your own music.
