Bubble POP Art by Arts Clayton

When: Wednesday, July 30 at 10:00 AM
Where: Headquarters Branch
Description:
Join Arts Clayton as they send their ArtVan and a professional instructor for a Scientific Adventure in "POP" Art!  Science and art always go hand in hand.  Together we'll study the science of bubbles. Make beautiful artwork and have lots of "POP" fun!  Recommended for ages 4-10.

Groups are welcome based on available space, but MUST register in advance.

Note that this program is being repeated at each of the county's six public libraries. Check the July calendar of events for the branch at which you would like to attend. Space is limited at some branches.

Preschool Storytime

When: Wednesday, July 30 at 10:30 AM
Where: Lovejoy Branch
Description: Preschool story time will be offered every Wednesday for 3-6 year olds. Activities will include stories, songs, finger plays, movement, crafts, and movies. For more information and to register your child please call the library at 770-472-8129. Groups are welcome but must register in advance.

Readers' Theatre & More@ The First Baptist Church ROC

Description:
Some of our talented teens will present Readers' Theatre & more!

Groups are welcome, but MUST register in advance.

This program will be held at the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, Recreation Outreach Center (ROC), 148 Church St., Jonesboro--on the North side of the church, directly across the street.

There is lots of parking for buses and vans. Please enter through the South, main, entrance.  The Clayton County Library System thanks the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro for providing a venue for this Wednesday Summer Reading Program series.

Don't forgot to register for the Summer Reading Program at the Jonesboro Branch Library, about one block away at 124 Smith St. Groups should ask for the Group Registration Form.

$$$$$ Story time by Dondra Clark, Heritage Bank

When: Thursday, July 31 at 10:00 AM
Where: Jonesboro Branch
Description:
Special guest reader, Dondra Clark, Assistant Vice President of Heritage Bank, Jonesboro, will read some fun, yet informative stories about money--how to save and use it wisely. This story time will be followed by a craft activity.  Ms. Clark will be coming from the Heritage Bank, 101 N Main St, Jonesboro, GA 30236. The stories read today will be different ones than the ones read on June 19.

For ages 4-10 years. Groups are WELCOME, but MUST register in advance.

Baby Talk

When: Thursday, July 31 at 10:00 AM
Where: Headquarters Branch
Description:

This program is an hour of one-on-one interactive play, songs, finger plays, rhymes, Souns® and book sharing time for parents, caregivers, or grandparents with their young ones.  You must register in advance.  However, you need only register one time for the entire series.

This program is for children ages newborn-20 months.  Due to the concern for the safety of these young children, older children, up to age 6, may not accompany the Baby Talk attendees.  Alternate arrangements must be made for older children.

When: Saturday, August 2 at 2:00 PM
Where: Jonesboro Branch
Description: Are you that person who wants to know everything about everything? Well Sid the Science kids does. Come to the Jonesboro Branch Library and watch episodes of "Sid the Science Kid". After the show, you can also do some observations. There will also be a craft related to the topic of the show.

Science Games with Ms. Jen

When: Monday, August 4 at 3:00 PM
Where: Jonesboro Branch
Description: Test your knowledge in science with fun and interactive games. There will be games such as "Science Bingo", "Science Jeopardy", and "What Do You Know About Science" just to name a few. Prizes will be given to each winner after the game. For ages 6-12.
