as we encourage your little one's love for books, reading, art, music and playing!

We have so much FUN!

Miss Amanda reads for about 30 minutes.

Then we move on to music and body movement for about fifteen minutes.

Last but not least we will do a fun craft you can take home.

Cuentos y Libros/Stories & Books

When: Saturday, May 25 at 1:00 PM
Where: Headquarters Branch
Description:

Each Saturday, stories will be read in both English and in Spanish. Talented bilingual volunteers will read stories in Spanish and library staff will read in English. The program will end with a craft. Free for the whole family.

Participarán estudiantes talentosas, que leerán en ambos idiomas (español e inglés). Después de la activad de lectura, los participantes harán una actividad manual. Saturday Family Movie

When: Saturday, May 25 at 2:30 PM
Where: Jonesboro Branch
Description: The ongoing war between the canine and feline species is put on hold when they join forces to thwart a rogue cat spy with her own sinister plans for conquest.

Parents or caregivers welcome to come too, but need to stay with younger children during the movie. Light refreshments served during the movie or feel free to bring your own. Rated PG.

Preschool Story Time

Description: Preschool story time will be offered every Wednesday for 3-6 year olds. Activities will include stories, songs, finger plays, movement, crafts, and movies. For more information and to register your child please call the library at 770-472-8129. Groups are welcome but must register in advance.

Baby Talk

When: Thursday, May 30 at 10:00 AM
Where: Headquarters Branch
Description:

This program is an hour of one-on-one interactive play, songs, finger plays, rhymes, Souns® and book sharing time for parents, caregivers, or grandparents with their young ones.  You must register in advance.  However, you need only register one time for the entire series.  This series begins on May 30th and will run through August 8th.

This program is for children ages newborn-20 months.  Due to the concern for the safety of these young children, older children, up to age 6, may not accompany the Baby Talk attendees.  Alternate arrangements must be made for older children.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE VENUE FOR THIS PROGRAM SERIES HAS CHANGED FROM LEE ST. ELEMENTARY TO PERRY CENTER CAFETERIA!

This program will be held in the cafeteria at the Perry Center, 137 Spring Street, Jonesboro, across the street from Lee Street Elementary, on west side of tennis courts. Enter the cafeteria from the small parking lot between tennis courts and school. There is parking across Spring Street, next to the Clayton County Board of Commissioners Risk Management Office. More parking at Lee St. Elementary and on the south side of the Perry Center.

The Clayton County Library System thanks Clayton County Public Schools, the Eula Wilborn Ponds Perry Learning Center, and Dr. Terry Young for hosting this series and the Clayton County Board of Commissioners for funding this program.

Groups are welcome, based on available space but MUST register in advance with the Jonesboro Branch Library.
