On Wednesday September 28, 2016 the Clayton County Firefighters from Station #5 came out to the Jonesboro Library during the story time to read with the children.

However, what they didn’t know was that they would have to dance!! Everyone had a wonderful time listening to the stories and having the chance to be in a fire truck. But the icing on the cake was doing “Tooty-Ta” dance around the room with the firefighters. The event was posted on the Clayton County Fire & Emergency Services Facebook page then shared on the 11 Alive News website.

Tori Simpson, Youth Services Librarian at the Jonesboro Library, expressed many thanks to the firefighters:

“I would like to give a great big “THANK YOU!!!!” to Sergeant Merkerson, Lt. Shuman, Sgt. Ojeda & FF. Hand of Station #5 for their amazing story time this past Wednesday! Our kids absolutely loved seeing the fire truck, turning on the siren, and sitting in the front seat! I know that the best part about all the excitement though was getting to dance with the firemen. They will never forget this experience and will definitely carry it with them for the rest of their lives!”

Now that’s the GOOD STUFF!!! Remember to bring your children to story time at any Clayton County Library.

You’ll never know who might stop by for story time firefighters, police officers, and maybe… even Mrs. Claus! (wink wink)
