Stella Hardesty is an unconventional heroine - recently she killed her abusive husband of many decades, and now she has a discreet side business in "taking care of" (although not quite as permanently) similar situations for other women who are under the thumb of men who won't keep their hands to themselves. But things get even more complicated when a custody problem of a client of hers turns into a mob problem... and this time, Stella may have bitten off more than even her big mouth can chew. This award-winning novel is hilarious and suspenseful - a real treat!
